Blois is a lovely medieval town situated in strategic position on a rocky promontory. The town is mostly known for its majestic fortress, a perfect mixture of various architectural styles, from gothic to Italian Renaissance. The castle is made up of four large areas, all finely decorated, built around a large central courtyard.
From Easter through to the end of September a fantastic show enlivens the Wednesday evenings inside the palace: the so called “Sons et Lumières”, a performance which gives the chance to admire the impressive architecture of the inner courtyard in a charming and unusual way. www.chateaudeblois.fr
