The International Garden Festival
Every year from end of April until the first half of October, the gardens of the Chaumont castle become the setting of an extraordinary performance, an unmissable event for gardening lovers, with thirty national and international landscape artists giving life to original contemporary gardens. Each year the festival has a different theme, but the core themes remain research, innovation and interest for biodiversity and sustainable development.
Pontlevoy music festival
This is a festival entirely dedicated to classical music, which takes place in July and August in the picturesque village of Pontlevoy, 25 km from Amboise. Music performances are held inside the solemn Abbey, with the participation of orchestras and artists from every part of the world. Joan of Arc Festival in Orleans
Every year between the end of April and the beginning of May, the town of Orleans celebrates its most famous and unlucky heroine, with the “Joan of Arc Festival”. During the celebration the second biggest military parade of France takes place, with processions and performances throughout the city. Festival of Loire (every two years)
At the end of September, on the odd-numbered years, the city of Orleans celebrates itself with one of the most dynamic cultural events, the Festival of Loire. More than two hundred boats gather up along the banks of the homonymous river, attracting a mass of 500.000 spectators.
